This entire post is going to sound like we’re tooting our own horn, but here it goes anyhow…

My darling Sarah finally wed her beloved Evan over Labor Day weekend.  This was a two year engagement.  Two years!

A little background:  Sarah and I met while working together.  I had just gotten married, and she got engaged shortly thereafter.  Having moved from Virginia to California with Evan, all her family and friends were back on the east coast, and me being obsessedwith weddings insisted we go dress shopping to celebrate her engagement.  Insert Alvina Valenta here…we bought a dress that day!  Two years later she actually got to wear it! 

Over the time Sarah & Evan were engaged, my hubby and I got to know Evan fairly well and it didn’t take long to realize why Sarah loved him so much.  Sarah and I have been working on her wedding design the years leading up to it, putting together details, designing stationery, collecting plates {yes, plates.  more on that later} and during that time, we grew closer and closer.  By the time the wedding had gotten closer, together we had developed her overall design, picked out her dress, designed her flowers, invitations, save-the-dates, and selected the brides maids dresses.  We were doing everything together; as client and vendor, friends, and confidants.  Then fate stepped in and I got upgraded to bridesmaid!  This is the second time Ive been in a wedding, designing it and running it {this time I had some major help from Lauren}.  Why I do this to myself, I’ll never know. 

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Temecula Farmhouse, a simply AMAZING venue! 

So two year in the making, the lovely Sarah & Evan:

She said she wanted a HUGE bouquet, which is what she got!

All the bridesmaids dresses were different, all from BCBG

The brides bouquet was a gorgeous mass of purple, while the bridesmaids were shades of nudes and light pink, as to not compete with the different dresses.

See those plates?  They’re antique.  Every one of them.  Sarah’s amazing aunt also made all the jam to serve as favors

Rather than placecards, each of the guests names were written in calligraphy on old window frames that Sarah and I came across rather deliberately one afternoon.
